During Plantarium 2018, Buddleja davidii ‘SMNBDBT’ (Rocketstar Indigo) was awarded a gold medal and was named Best Novelty Plantarium 2018.
This Buddleja was submitted by Valkplant BV from Boskoop. The jury report states:
‘Very well branched shrubs with a dense, low growth habit. Beautiful contrast between dark green leaves and warm flower colors. Flowers deep violet with orange eye. Because of the great influence of B. davidii in the crossing, very hardy and therefore very versatile. Distinctive and innovative combination of properties. ‘
Plantarium’s Best Novelty will be given a place at the Harry van de Laar assortment garden in Boskoop after the exhibition. The Best Novelties of recent years have been planted here in a special Plantarium section.
