Excellence Roses are strong, healthy, rich and flowering roses that give good results to end users without the use of plant protection products. To qualify for the Excellence Rose designation, roses are trialled at several rosaria in the Netherlands and Belgium: Rozenhof Lottum, rosarium Winschoten, rosarium Boskoop and Plantentuin ‘De Kleine Boerderij’ in Merksplas and rozentuin in Vrijbroekpark in Mechelen. These trials take place under the auspices of the KVBC.

Inspections
The triennial trials are carried out by the Rosaria trial committees. The Dutch Rose Association assigns 1 or 2 judges per committee.

Excellence Roses is an activity of the Culture Group for Roses and Rootstocks, under the Anthos secretariat.
